Sound Transferred in Waves
Ever hear an ambulance from far away and its right by you it's so loud then when it passes you can still hear it?
That is called the Doppler Effect which is the increase and decrease in sound. It gets gradually louder when approaching then loud when near you and gets softer when it has passed by.
Tsunami's have a very loud noise similar to aircraft and a train.
